2008年11月 バス運賃「律儀な人たち」
Bkkのバス運賃は2008年上半期に原油価格高騰により、一乗り7B→8B→9Bと値上がりを続けた。それが１０月にはいり、原油価格が少しずつ下がったのにつれて、９Bが８Bになり、今は7.5Bである。バスにはエアコンバスなど、多くの種類があるが、どれも全て１～２B下がった。
というか、少し前の料金に戻った。もしこれが日本なら？一度上がった乗車賃を下げるだろうか？これには様々な見方があるかもしれないが、組織の正直さ、人々の生真面目さの差を感じずにはいられない。
乗車中荷物が重ければ座っている他人に持ってもらうことも常であり、他人を信用することが必要な社会だと感じる。信用されていることにより、各々が「恥を知る」文化であると思う。
文化や習慣の違いから戸惑いを感じる事もしばしばあるが、日本が失いつつある精神性をこの社会で教えられる事が多い。
Nov.2008 transportation fare “honest people”
The transportation fare of the buses in Bkk had been risen because of the steep rise of the oil value.
The fare had been 7B by one ride then risen 8B to 9B. But in October, along to the fall of the oil value, its fare also had been down from 9B to 8B. And now it is 7.5B. Actually there are several levels of the buses and the fare is also depend on the levels, but the fare had been down around 1 to 2B in every levels. It is just a small amount, but it made me consider about the pepople’s honesty.
If you have a very heavy bag and standing in a bus, then some other person who is sitting will hold your bag on her knee. Everybody is supposed to trust the others here, and while the others trust the one, every one of us should have a pride and know the one’s own shame.
The cultural and the custom differences sometimes make me feel lost but I often notice that the spirit that we Japanese has been losing are still here.
